Stephanie Shirley, LCSW

I completed my undergraduate studies in 2011 at the University of Utah in Psychology with a minor in Nutrition Sciences. I moved back to Idaho after completing my undergraduate studies and worked as a PSR worker before returning to school in 2013. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University in 2015 and have worked at Rehabilitative Health Services as an LMSW and LCSW clinician ever since.

My goal is to create a therapy environment that is warm, accepting, and trauma informed. I believe in individualized approaches to treatment and strive to meet each client where he or she is at in order to prioritize creating a solid therapeutic relationship. I am passionate about trauma work and have been trained in EMDR I and II. Recent Trauma Episode Processing (R-TEP), and Group Trauma Processing (G-TEP).

I am currently working towards receiving my EMDR certification through an EMDRIA approved supervisor and intend to continue to grow my knowledge to be able to deliver much needed trauma informed treatment to our local community and to my individual clients. I also have training in Trauma Focused CBT, DBT, solution focused therapy, self-compassion mindfulness, and am currently working towards receiving my 200 hour yoga teacher certification.

I believe in the power of mindful body movement to facilitate in the healing process in addition to psychotherapy and am looking forward to growing my practice to be able to integrate the best of both worlds. Overall, it is my greatest honor to collaborate with people and hold space as they explore their own abilities to access their strengths and resilience in order to make and maintain meaningful change through the transitions of life.
